Uniform Policy

The Dr. Charles C. Brimm Medical Arts High School recognizes that proper dress and attire mean important part of the school program. Students should display pride in their school and in themselves by coming to school in uniform. The basis of judgment for acceptability of dress shall be neatness, health, cleanliness, modesty, and good taste.
  • Shoes or boots (black, brown or navy) and leather sneakers (black or white) must be worn so school at all times. Brightly colored footwear, high, spiked heels, flip-flops or open-toed, backless footwear may not be worn. Students' shoelaces must be tied.
  • Brimm uniform shirts are to be worn at all times as specified on the Best Uniform Order Form. (See Appendix ii) No shirt will extend below the tip of the student's thumb. Undershirts are not to be visible.
  • Brimm uniform pants are plain, standard cut, regular length pants in khaki or navy blue. No capris, cargo pants or pants with extra ornamentation are to be worn.
  • Brimm uniform skirts are khaki, navy or plaid.
  • Special occasions may require more formal attire such as ties or dress shoes.
  • No knit perforated shirts, or sleeveless undershirts will be permitted as an outer-garment. Boys and girls tops must have sleeves
  • No type of revealing clothing will be accepted, such as see-through blouses or shirts, shorts, etc., unless they are worn with an appropriate undergarment. An appropriate undergarment would be a garment otherwise considered acceptable by itself under the dress code policy. Shirts or blouses cannot be cut short, thus exposing the stomach.
  • Shorts, culottes and skorts may be worn provided that they are not shorter than the length, which exists when the arm/hand is filly extended. The garment in question can be no shorter than the height of the middle finger extended. Skirts may be worn provided that they are no shorter than 2 inches above the top of the knee. It should be noted that the wearing of biker shorts,(spandex material, i.e., tights, stirrup pants, and leggings, etc.) will not be permitted to be worn as an outer garment.
  • Jeans or slacks with cut-outs or rips of any kind are not to be worn to school at any times. Pants and skirts cannot be worn below the waist.
  • Sunglasses are not permitted to be worn in the building with the exception of those required by a doctor's prescription
  • All clothing worn by students must be in good taste. No clothing or hair with obscene or suggestive lettering or pictures will be permitted.
  • Hats, head scarfs, "Do-Rags", bandanas, picks, combs, curlers, or similar style head apparel may not be worn.
  • Metal/rope chains, spikes or related items are prohibited.
The first line of enforcement of the dress code is the teacher with the support of the principal. The principal shall be responsible for the implementation of this policy, and shall have the right of the final determination for appropriateness of a particular item of clothing.
